Why we chose this school
We picked this school for our children as it was the closest school and I work 12 hours a day so it was the easiest option. There was a small fee we had to pay each year but it gradually increased every year. Two of my children attended from grade 6-12 while another child attended from prep to grade 12.
What we like and dislike
I like the fact that it is nearby because drop off and pick up is easy for me but before school and after school is a nightmare as it is so busy and the pickoff and drop off zone only fits 6 cars when there are over 300 cars waiting for their children.

Compared with other schools
No technology was really used, for the first few years we would get letters that were handed to our children but after that they changed to emails.
Balancing academics and wellbeing
I do remember there was a psychologist at this school in the last two years, but I remember my daughter telling me it was useless as the psychologist was quite judgemental and would breach privacy concerns to the children’s parents when asked not to and she was only there for two days a week. Apart from that I am unaware of any other aspect they’ve added to help our children’s emotional health.
Expectations versus reality
I didn’t really have any expectations for the school considering it was a public school, but I don’t like how nosy the school is. I dropped my daughter to school very early one time and she got a detention for being on her phone at 7:30 in the morning and got it taken away. Quite ridiculous I don’t think the school should be able to take my children’s belongings like that, especially that early in the morning. She was then told to go to the library and borrow a book to read instead of being on her phone. Mind you the library opens at 8.
Support for students who struggle
I’m not too sure about this one. My children were all pretty quiet and reserved so they didn’t like getting extra help unfortunately.
Bullying and the social scene
I don’t know if my children were bullied in school but I don’t think so. When I went to pick up my children there were lots of kids that would abuse each other but I think that was just their way of being kids and friendly.
The surrounding area and safety
A lot of the children are not the smartest as they run and cross the road without checking and I vaguely remember one child got ran over this way. The school should have better policies in place to avoid this. Apart from that the surroundings are quite safe I’d say.
The parent community
No this is not the case at all. I don’t think I knew any of the other parents other than meeting my children’s friends parents outside of school.
How the school works with parents
Unfortunately I don’t think I was invited to many school events, there might have been a few but I was always unable to attend due to my job and working 12 hours a day.
Experience of the sports program
None of my children attended the schools sports programs unfortunately as the fees were over $1000 and pretty unaffordable unreasonably.
Experience of arts activities
My youngest daughter did fashion for a term but quit as the teacher told her to learn how to sew herself when she had no experience, while the teacher prioritised and helped the students that have had prior sewing experience and were well hear in making their garments.
