Would you recommend it?
Yes, even though it was a public school the teachers were great and there were lots of extracurricular activities for students.
What had the biggest impact
I remember when the school was sick of people vaping in the bathrooms so they locked all of them and you’d have to line up to use the one in the office. waiting in line all break time to use the bathroom wasn’t great. they have since changed that now though.

Year 12 subject choices
Biology - was good at it, really like the teacher and enjoyed the way he taught Psychology - something i was interested in at the time, had to do it through distance education as my school didn’t have a teacher for it Physics - liked the teacher, was good at math and science General Math - I found Methods too stressful in Year 11 so I changed into general math, I found this subject super easy and boring and I didn’t really like the teacher very much. English - required. was a kind of boring subject like curriculum wise but i had a good teacher so it made it better Modern History - i like researching things so this class was great, also got to learn more about history. my teacher was great. i have no regrets about the subjects i chose
Getting extra help
Getting extra support was super easy. There was homework club which the teachers would go to which they could help with you assignments / coursework. Most teachers had office hours where you could to and see them for one-on-one feedback / tutoring sessions. Peer support was also a big part of leaderbody.
Readiness for life after school
Yes. I felt that I was prepared adequately. The school invited lots of different universities and career people to the school to talk to us about pathways after highschool. We also went on excursions to different universities to tour their campuses.
Subject range and curiosity
The school itself is really small so there’s not many teachers for certain subjects, but they offered to do them through distance education. My teachers were really great at letting us engage with our learning and wider community.
Bullying and getting to school safely
Bullying was somewhat an issue, it was kind of a case-by-case basis but most of them ended up with the bully being expelled or suspended from the school. I felt totally safe getting to and from school.
Camps and excursions
I would say it was relaxed but traditional. There was some competitiveness between certain students but not enough to say it was a lot. It was easy to fit in.

Mr. Searle likes to go on super long tangents during assemblies before he gets to his point.
