Would you recommend it?
Yeronga has come a long way from how it was when i started there. They have started new academy's like the trade and athletics acadmey. They have acces to a automotive, wood and metal workshop with great equipment. Teachers are definitely, regardless of anything else, what made this school great for me. Their dedication to your success as a student is unmatched compared to other schools I have been too.
What had the biggest impact
The support network. I had struggled alot through grade 11 and 12 with homelessness, they had breakfast clubs, food hampers and organised accommodation for me. They went above and beyond what was expected to help me succeed. I truly am forever grateful.

Year 12 subject choices
I did Cert II in aircraft line maintenance, externally because its my future career choice. Cert III in screen and media, because i love bringing my mind to reality. Maths and physics, essential to understanding how the world works!
Getting extra help
If you wanted good for yourself, if you wanted to help yourself that would be the only road block to getting help and assistance. At yeronga it was all about, if you want to help yourself, they can too.
Readiness for life after school
I was prepared, maybe more than others, only really because i had known what i wanted for years, and prepared accordingly.
Subject range and curiosity
Yes heaps of interesting and wacky little subjects to satisfy everyone! There is music, drama, arts, or for those who are more hands on woodwork, automotive, engineering, design and manufacturing to name a few
Bullying and getting to school safely
If you know anything about yeronga state hhigh schools history you would know it had a tainted past. One of the first schools in queensland to have a police officer stationed at. There were gangs who would hang around yeronga memorial park, machetes were stached incase a fight broke out, i have seen people jumped and stolen from at the school when i first started (which is unrelated to the gang past). Every year there were less and less of the graduates or soon to be...End up in jail. After a year, I left for a year and came back, i was absolutely astonished with how the school had cleaned up there act, it was truly a great environment where you could prosper and grow. The school expelled, implemented tougher rules and educated students to behave better. The park is now safe enough to walk through at night, which may not seem suprising, but having talked to historic alumni, it would seem inconceivable to them.
Camps and excursions
Traditional, evolving into modern and accepting new ideologies such as LGbt whatever it is. In the sense of diversity, I couldnt have wished for a better place to be exposed to it. There has to be students from atleast 50 different countries there, and we all exist in Harmony, which is one of the schools values.
Something only students would know
I would love to share, and I'm sure you would love to read my stories, but for the sake of those involved I would for their own integrity, not wish to speak on it. I wish i could write a book, so the memories never faded. I'll think of one, every swimming carnival we would attempt to push a teacher into the pool😅
Coaching and chances to compete
Heaps of opportunities, any that would come up the teachers would almost chase you down if they knew it was right for you. I got into the rugby team this was, and i had an absolute blast! When i was in grade ten i didnt care for any of these things and when i got to grade 11 and 12, i ran in both cross countries coming second and third. All thanks to teachers encouragement.

Heaps of facilites, and down to earth teachers who were passionate and well experienced and more than willing to share.jt!
