What had the biggest impact
my biology teacher in year 10 and 11 was really fun to be around and i looked forward to his class every time i had it. he was really fun and relatable and everyone in the class loved him, and every lesson was just a great experience

Year 12 subject choices
i did general english, essential maths, ancient history, japanese, music, and biology. i love biology but i kind of regret choosing it as i had a really strict teacher in year 12 (different from year 10 and 11) and my friend and i didn’t like her that much and preferred the other teacher. she always gave me C’s even when i thought i did good (she was a HOD so no surprise). I also regret choosing japanese as even though i loved doing it, we got a teacher who was new to teaching high schoolers and was just really bad at teaching so we learnt basically nothing for the last 2 years of school.
Getting extra help
Pretty good? the teachers would always say we could go to their tutorials even if we weren’t in their class. and it was probably better to go to theirs anyway cause they could tell us things our teacher wasn’t supposed to.
Readiness for life after school
I was not prepared at all. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. But i eventually got into a traineeship and now i’m studying at TAFE so it doesn’t really matter how prepared you are by the end.
Subject range and curiosity
yes there were so many subject choices. part of me wishes i had done hospitality instead of music but i loved doing music and my music teacher was so lovely. i remember every year we do a career expo and they have stalls in the hall for basically every subject and it was really fun to walk around and see what the subjects had displayed for everyone—like you could see what they were doing in robotics, science, media, etc. it was just really interesting to get to see inside of other subjects and interact with them
Bullying and getting to school safely
bullying wasn’t really an issue for me but i had an incident in year 7 with a girl who was sort of bullying me (i told her to stop but she just thought it was funny and kept harassing me), anyway i told the school about it and she was disciplined and i’m pretty sure she was kicked out so i’d say the school has a pretty good way of handling bullies.
Camps and excursions
it was pretty chill for the most part, students were laid back and most teachers were apart from a few strict ones. everyone kinda had their own little groups which was fine.
Something only students would know
one of the teachers that used to teach there (he moved to a different school) used to go to the formal every year and breakdance
Coaching and chances to compete
we were forced to do interschool sports up until year 9 when we could choose what we wanted to do. i remember hating sport so i chose to do media instead. so i don’t actually know a lot about the sport and coaches at my school. i do know we had a school football team or something like that
Chances to take part in the arts
i initially loved doing media as it was really fun and we had access to cameras and tripods and photoshop and all that stuff, but i dropped out pf it in year 10 to do music, which i loved and stayed in until the end of high school. music was great because i had such a nice teacher and i loved how we had the opportunity to have our own time by going into the music rooms and practicing. the school also hosted a night of music which you could go to at night by gold coin donation and watch the students perform which i thinj was a really fun experience
