Would you recommend it?
It certainly depends, i would not let my little brothers but if it was a family that their only school was macgregor or sunnybank state high etc schools of that sort i would reccomend it the people there were really good for me at least i did witness bullying alot or just snarky comments/ talking behind each others backs and drama and alot of fights but i wasnt one to get bullied so i enjoyed the time and if i could go back to those lunch breaks or arvos with my mates i probably would. The academic quality was poor unless you were musically inclined as teachers didnt really teach too well but were nice and genuine people other than a fair few good people not great teachers.
What had the biggest impact
Friends. The people i met were great and definitley made an impact on my life but no programs for me were any help to be honest

Year 12 subject choices
I do wish i tried harder as i never thought id want to go uni and just wanted to be a sparky but having the opportunity to go uni wouldve been good and i likely will go to uni id probably stick to economics and focus instead of switching to arts cause i wanted easier schooling
Getting extra help
Teachers were an email away and were pretty good just dont think their teaching style suited most and had alot of changing/ leave of teachers especially english and maths
Readiness for life after school
from 0-10 a 0 did not feel prepared at all still had work paths with going into electrical but still was not prepared to go straight into working full time and felt lost and know that every or most of my peers felt exactly the same with alot not having a job for a year and not knowing what to do if they didnt go uni and the people who went uni were startled by the work load they got when they joined uni and lost alot of their social life because of it
Subject range and curiosity
Wasnt great with alot of subjects being on the same time so you would have to choose between the two with what you wanted to do more
Bullying and getting to school safely
Not really any sus people and not really any busy roads other than one and it was great having garden city a 4 minute walk away bullying was a pretty big thing definitley for the kids below me as i knew a fair few who were getting bullied my grade, grades a few above and a few below were good but seemed like it started 3 grades below were it was pretty bad school didnt seem to do anything at all maybe tell off the kid but never really move the kid/ move them out of the class
Camps and excursions
Dont really have any to be honest excursions were pretty boring people did mostly stick to their groups but it was structured teachers did care about the kids learning just not many things you can do in brisbane to be frank.
Something only students would know
That all the male pe teachers were pervs other than Mr Meredith who was a g didnt really have any traditions think thats every school though thats all you really hear about from other students
Coaching and chances to compete
Not great i was really high level of touch in primary school but gave up once i joined macgregor as their touch football was not great at all and the coaches didnt seem to care i heard the volleyball was great though
